City Meditation Exercise For Stress Relief
Sit back in your chair.
shuffle around a little,
until you feel comfortable.
Don't worry if you still feel a little tense.
Soon you will be very, very relaxed.
Rest your arms gently at your side.
Let your hands hang limp from your wrists.
Let your thighs sink deep into the chair.
Relax your knees.
Let your legs hang loose,
your feet placed lightly on the floor.
Sit well back and relax.
You are already much more comfortable.
Take three long, deep breaths.
Breath in through your nose.
Inhale long and deep.
Open your mouth and exhale.
Expel all the air you can.
The stale air is filled with your cares and worries.
Let them all go on that breath.
They are leaving your body now.
Take another long, deep breath in.
Take the air deep into your lungs.
Now feel your stomach expanding
with good, fresh, clean air.
Breath out all the air you can.
See any remnants of your stress expelled on the air.
Gone from your body now.
Visualise the air in front of you.
It is fresh and clean and filled with golden light.
Take one more long, deep breath in.
Deep into your lungs and down into your stomach.
Feel your body filling with the fresh, clean, golden light.
Breath out now,
expelling the golden light.
It floats around your body, fresh and clean
and very, very powerful.
It is surrounding you.
Your body is inside a golden ball of light.
It is your protection.
It will keep you safe while you meditate.
Breath easy now.
In through your nose.
Out through your mouth.
Gently and completely normal breathing now.
Relax.
You don't have to worry about breathing.
Your body is taking care of that.
And while you are deep in your meditation,
all the air you breath in
is clean and fresh and golden.
And completely trouble free.
In your meditation,
you are going for a walk through the city,
Completely safe.
Completely care free.
Relax.
Your body feels heavy.
It is so soft and floppy and deeply relaxed.
But your spirit is light as air
and so carefree.
You are ready for your walk
in the city.

Visualise a city street.
Any one will do.
I'm sure you are familiar with many.
Remember you are safe.
Secure within your golden ball of light.
It can make you invisible if you like.
It is completely up to you.
This is your meditation.
You make the rules.
Begin your walk
when you are ready.
People surround you as you walk along.
But they do not enter your golden space.
They smile and laugh and talk.
You enjoy the lull of their voices.
It is so relaxing.

See the glow of the street lights.
The bright window displays.
You are bathed in their light.
It adds to the brightness
of the golden ball of light
surrounding you.
Keeping you safe.
And guiding your path.
See the headlights on the cars
as they pass by.
There is noise.
But it is a peaceful noise.
You know these sounds so well.
They are deeply relaxing.
Everything is as it should be.
All is familiar.
All is safe.
This city walk is so good
and refreshing
and soothing.
As you walk along.
Close to your destination now.

You are heading towards your
favorite place.
The bar where you relax
and let go of all the stresses of the day.
And this time you will be deeply relaxed.
Among familiar faces
and familiar sounds.
Surrounded by your ball of light.
You will feel so peaceful here.
And so safe.
Turn down this street.
You are almost there now.

Feel the ground under your feet as you walk along.
It is firm and strong
and familiar.
And safe.

The light is welcoming.
Your friends are all inside
at the bar.
